I draw inspiration from my surroundings. I like to be in as many places as possible, and so my my paintings are references to eras in my life. For example, my time canoe guiding in Northern Quebec, others reflect time spent driving through the Southwest, jumping in the pacific ocean for the first time. — or a train trip across the Northwestern US. Sometimes these places are landscapes born from periods of spacing out, or whilst I’m biking to get groceries. I like to think of my work as a collection of my journey so far, and one day I hope it reveals a clear path but right now it’s a work in progress. I’m collecting as go along.
Collaborating with restaurants, community members, and individuals I work to apply color to their places, pets, people that play an important role in their life.
